We are incredibly proud to share that the Active Inclusion Program (AIP) — led by Gold Coast Recreation and Sport Inc (GCRS) in collaboration with the City of Gold Coast and the Active & Healthy Alliance Gold Coast has received global recognition at the 2025 Smart Cities and Sport Summit, awarded by the World Union of Olympic Cities.
This prestigious award celebrates innovation and impact through sport, recognising the Gold Coast’s leadership in making sport, fitness, wellness, and recreation more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities.
None of this would be possible without the support of our community partners, local and state government, and the many organisations and advocates who believe in creating opportunities for everyone to participate and thrive. Together, we are building a city where inclusion is not an afterthought — it’s the foundation.
We’re honoured to see this work recognised on a global stage, but even more proud of the collective effort behind it. Thank you to every partner, advocate, and supporter who continues to drive inclusion forward on the Gold Coast.
