Building Skills and Inclusion: GCRS Participants Join Bond University Students for Sport and Training

In November 2025, 11 of our participants visited Bond University’s Exercise Physiology and Sports Science students for an engaging and hands-on learning experience at the Bond Institute of Health and Sport High Performance Training Centre.

Throughout the session, participants teamed up with students for strength and conditioning activities designed to give students practical experience while offering our participants a fun and motivating challenge. The energy in the room was high, with both groups learning from each other and building confidence through shared activity.

After training, the students joined the RollerBlaze Wheelchair Basketball team for a friendly and spirited game—an absolute highlight of the day. The court was full of teamwork, laughter, and plenty of competitive spirit!

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive from both participants and students. Many commented on how valuable the experience was, how much they learned, and how much they enjoyed connecting with one another in such an inclusive and supportive environment.

A huge thank you to everyone involved—including our incredible participants for bringing your time, energy, and enthusiasm. Opportunities like this help strengthen inclusive pathways in sport and provide real-world learning that benefits everyone.
