SUMMARY:Annual Athletics Championships
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Invitational Athletics Carnival provides the opportunity for children with a disability to compete at a competitive level. This event also serves as a gateway to competitive sports\, providing a pathway into the Special Olympics and Paralympics Program. It is the only event of its kind in Southeast QLD. \nThis year\, the event will be held at the Gold Coast Performance Centre in Runaway Bay on Thursday 5th September 2024 and will see over 500 student competitors from 25 different schools take part in various track and field events. Some of our community partners will also be there to ensure the day is filled with fun and laughter including Gold Coast Suns\, Gold Coast Titans\, and Southport Sharks. The Track events will commence after the Official March Past of students and the lighting of the Olympic Ceremonial Flame.\nFor more information\, please contact Events at events@gcrs.com.au
