Since joining GCRS in February 2019, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles, starting as a recreational officer and now serving as a Program Development Coordinator. I’m also actively involved in the Active Inclusion Project, which I am really enjoying. Over the past six years (with a few breaks for travel and soccer), my role has allowed me to make a real impact on the lives of our participants.
One of the best parts of working at GCRS is the daily joy brought by our clients. Their energy, laughter, and unique stories make every day exciting and fulfilling. No two days are the same, and I love being in such an active role where I can help create positive experiences for others.
Outside of work, my passion lies in soccer and futsal. I’ve been playing soccer since I was five, and more recently, I’ve been excited by the rapid growth of female futsal in Australia. This excitement has led me to an incredible opportunity—being selected for the Australian Futsal Team. In December, I attended a selection camp in Sydney, where 30 female players from across the country competed for just 14 spots. I was fortunate enough to make the team and travelled to Uzbekistan, where we won all four of our matches, successfully qualifying for the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup.
Now, I have my sights set on the next selection round. If I make it, I’ll be heading to Mongolia in May to compete in the tournament. It’s been an incredible journey so far, and I’m excited to see what’s next!
Beyond my sporting career, I hold a Bachelor of Sport Development from Griffith University, which has provided a strong foundation for both my work at GCRS and my involvement in the sporting community.
With a passion for sport, inclusion, and personal development, I’m excited for what the future holds—both on and off the field.
Well done Meg on all of your achievements!!
